can any one point me at any regs that state that a fixed item external to a property requires rcd protection ie a supply to a gate control unit in a plasic cupboard with rcd in gate control fuse board in cupboard
as i am clear in my belief that if the cabling is swa or suitiable for installation and earth loop ect is fine
then complience is done but can any one say differant

Can't really find anything mate but Section 413 of the BRB comes close

I have to install 2 x 20A supplies for air con units.

The cable route will all be surface trunking, above a suspended ceiling, and therefore wont be RCD protected.
