Some of our customers' properties need this and I've had an interest in it for a few years although not much time to follow it up since Green Deal. I've currently got 3 customers who would really benefit from EWI so I've been looking for prices with the face saving new 6k grants. Cheapest I seem to be able to find is £125/m2.

To put this into context we live in a modest bungalow that has approximately 110m2 so £13,750 - £6000 = £7,750. Now call me a cynic but it's not 2 years since I was quoted in passing, £40/£50 m2 for EWI err £5,500 and without the hassle of GDA, GDP, getting the cashback etc etc. Has EWI really increased in price that much?

Yep, EWI is the new double glazing / cavity and loft insulation bonanza for the likes of Mark Group et al.

We are seeing that you can get a mid terrace / small end of terrace done for £4k, (the installer will take the end if he's got a few mid's to do so that they all get offered it for the old £4k cash back deal) plus then the cut for the GDP and about 3 others in the pipeline each taking their cut.

We're working on quite a big project involving a couple of hundred EWI installations on the smaller properties, I'll see if I can get more detailed prices from them over the next few days. It all assumes they've got a few to do in the area rather than just one offs, plus they are paying £200 for each deal that completes to the 'referrer' / landlord.

That's interesting Gordon, I reckon we could refer a good few. We've been quoted £1500 for a mid terraced house after cashback, £25 a month with Green Deal. Nice to see it's not just me burning the midnight oil!
