I know how stupid the title sounds but... It's exactly that.

I am currently doing a downlights replacement.

The switch line feeds into a JB. However in addition to the feeds to the lights I also have a 1.5 t&e with everything cutback except the line.

I know about borrowed Neutrals but a borrowed line is new to me?

Doesn't seem to do anything and everything still working when disconnected.

Just curious if anyone has any idea what it could be for.

Thanks
Dave

Is it part of a 2 way switching Maybe

I've seen this on 2 way switching using twin & earth. Line taken from a light switch at one end of the house and neutral & CPC from an RFC near the other end.

There were no RCDs or double pole anythings involved so everything worked as expected. Took a while to work out why there was 1mm T&E coming out of the side of a metal clad socket in the attached garage.

At least there was a draw line in place.
