extract fans

Can you run 2 bathroom extract fans of the same isolator switch ?

Cannot see a reason why not as long as they are on the same floor & the switch rating is sufficient to handle the load

When an isolating device is installed remotely from the equipment it is meant to isolate, the device must be able to be locked in the OFF position. 537.2.1.5.
So if the 2 fans are not in the same location as the isolating switch then it has to be lockable.

assume its the same bathroom so cant see this being an issue although good point

Bear in mind if you get a fault on one of the fans and it needs to be isolated you loose both fans not just the faulty one, i would always install a seperate isolator for each fan, the extra time involed and price of isolator is minimal.

thanks for the advice. i think i will spur off one and use a 2nd isolator on the other as this is a toilet and a shower room that are not in the same location so hope this will be ok ?
