extractor fan, restaurant

Hi,

I've been asked to supply power to 4 extractor fan units in the toilet are of a restaurant, as they have a timer function i will be supplying a switch live, perm live, neutral and earth from the local lighting circuits. Whats the criteria for isolation in a situation like this?

Thanks

local isolation is required for maintenance purposes. imagine you had to replace a faulty fan, then think..... i need to be able to isolate this fan without turning the lights off, so need an isolator whithin line of sight to where i am , so nobody can turn it on.

if you're coming off the lighting, no need to fuse down, unless fan manufacturers stipulate 3Afused. 3 pole isolator is fine

Yea thats it, think there newlec fans, not sure whether they stipulate to be on a 3A or not.

can you get metal clad fan isolators to go with the steel conduit?

Ok to mount the isolator in the toilet cubicle next to the fan? on the ceiling?

6A normally yes they do metalclad ones and If your mounting them in the ceiling then use a drywall patress and mount it flush
