Hi all,

I have a commercial inquiry for facade mounted PV. I know Schuco does it but I can't source it.

Does anyone know of a supplier for facade mounting systems?

Thanks

Mark C

There is a K2 system available out there suppliers are solar advanced systems.
hope this helps you?

Also the supplier we use do these Facade systems they are Sundog Energy of Cumbria

Just by simple algebra, If 37 degrees is optimal, then 90 degrees, is nearly the same as a 16 degree pitch north facing roof.

(angle of incidence on both will be 53 degrees)

@Markc be interesting to run that set of parameters through PVSol!

Worcester - can't fault your algebra (love a bit of maths) but I was about to reply that you'd lost all logic since the (assumed) south facing 90 would see sun all day whilst the north 16 would only see top half of it. Then I ran it through Sunny Design and of course the north 16 won hands down (almost +15%)! I'm guessing the optimised angle is optimised for year round total and is largely influenced by the long summer hours of high sun when the angle of incidence on the north 16 is much better than the south 90 (ie the sun is for many hours >37deg above the horizon). And that although the south 90 gets all the early and late sun, plus plenty of short winter sun, this is not enough to make up for the summer under performance. I guess a 12 month flow chart with each overlaid would show this nicely - does PVsol have that facility? And indeed does PVsol agree with Sunny Design? Fascinating.

Also interesting to note that horizontal only appears to be about 13% down on optimal whilst vertical is about 35% down.
I guess smetimes it's the only way but does seem a very poor option.

90degrees do you mean vertical
not very good outputs at all unless client lives in a dessert or has lots of light bouncing off water
some thin film modules work well up to 80degrees

i could offer a facade/canopy mounting system
modules 185-250wp either vertical/horizontal
angled at 5 to 45degrees i assume 30/30degrees would be ideal
fixes to the wall
seen whole buildings covered in these
or wall/facade mounted suntrackersve
