Hi Guys need some help, I've just failed my 2391-20 Design course when i was quietly confidant i had passed it (that will teach me).:(
I have re-booked it for two weeks time so i could do with some passed exam papers if anyone has some available, i will have to write quicker this time.(3 hours and still didn't finish)

Also has anyone just completed their project?? i got the community centre and would like to know if I'm heading down the right track with this.

Any help much appreciated !!

There is a book called brian scadden design and verification it has questions and answers in the back and i had 1 off the questions from this book in my exam. This is the closest you are going to get to past exam papers. Not many people do this course unfortunatly and it limits what slips though the net.
Good luck

hi there shaw 86

got to hand in my project for the community center at the end of the month and would be greatful if you could confirm some of the answers i have got down for the questions.

i'll wait for a reply though before i post any of my findings on the forum though or if you could pass on your email address.

thanks

here's one though i got my max demand to about 630A, do i need an isolator to cover the 630A or do i split it between the three phases and go for one to cover the 210A per phase i've gone with two additional DBs, an extra one with DB1 in the store room and one in the kitchen to cover the appliances and the cafe

630A Total split between the three phases will give you 210 Amp per phase give or take depending on how well you have balanced the phases. A 250 Amp 3 phase incommer is ample.
As for DB's i allowed for 1 extra which was put in the kitchen area which covered the kitchen, cafeteria and the external lighting. The DB in the Kitchen had an extension to house a timeclock and contactors with manual overide facility.

Sorry for the late response. I have used a contactor which has a manual over ride switch, they come in varius sizes from 16 Amp up to around 40 Amp. As for switching i have used a combination of a photocell and timeclock to control the external lights. I work for a company that does alot of commercial and industrial work so i have used this method alot and i am familiar with the products available so that is the reason for using it. Hope this helps.
