Fan control and ambient temp

Hi all,
Someone asked me this the other day and I didnt have an answer.
In one room they had a log fire and up at the top of this room thay had an extractor fan directed into the next door room. The idea was that when the 'Log Fire room' got up to a certain temperature they wanted the fan to kick in and suck warm air into the next door room. They had wired the fan up to a stat but obviously when the room got up to temperature the stat knocked the fan off!!
Is there some piece of control gear that will make this work? A 'backwards stat' if you will.
Cheers.

See if the stat has both an NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed) connection, if it does then move the cable from NC to NO and that should do the job. Please keep in mind Des' caveats above as well!

Cheers guys.
Ive not been involved in the work or even seen it but I will mention these regs to him.
