Hi, nipping round to look at a fan with light in it in a bathroom, I have been told the fans not working but the light works fine, I was just wondering if anyone had had this before, obviously this is a straight forward change but you would gave thought the hole unit would not work, unless it's just a core going to fan has snapped

Hi, I had exactly the same job last week, a Manrose inline fan with shower light (transformer) light worked o.k. but fan was dead. The fan could only be accessed through the 100mm hole cut for the grill/light, and was larger than the hole so it was like performing keyhole surgery. On inspection the back of the screw clamp connectors for the 3 core cable had all burnt out and the fan motor was open circuit, so I went and bought a new one stripped the parts needed and replaced them in situ, it was a fiddly job and took about 1.5 hours in total. Hope this helps!

Thanx for answers lads, it's an extract fan above his bath, I'm going to look in half hour, iv told him to get a new one so hopefully straight forward change and it should work
