Hi, anybody come across a Roof Ljnes Fan speed control. it's controlling a pub kitchen extrasctor ( above the range), or was until it burnt out. is there a generic one to replace it, or does it have to be matched to the fan. for info, it's single phase, wired in 1.5 off a 6A MCB,

thanks lads, the controller has only a L/N in and L/N out, so imagine it's 2 wire. there is another T/E in the housing not connected.

looks that way. just so hy can use his kitchen and feed his customers, i've linked it out. he can turn it on /off at ther MCB. found Cadamp, their range has a coulpe will do. 6Aand 10A.

Systemair do a wide range and are pretty good quality.

I also like Systemair products but avoid their transformer speed controllers unless your fan is an external rotor motor.

Most PWM speed controllers should be okay to use if the fan has a normal induction motor. I would find a speed controller where you can adjust the minimum rotation speed that can be selected by the knob on the front and set it to the minimum speed capabilities of the fan. If the minimum speed is allowed to be too low then the motor can overheat and fail.
