Hi Malcolm you kindly replied to an earlier thread of mine re 2 way switching.
can i just clarify with you:
in switch 2 red and yellow are joined as are blue and black. The blue and yellow(strappers) then connecting to brown and black at switch 1 is this right.
the red (common) in switch 2 connect to what part of the circuit ultimately?
likewise the red and black in switch 2 where do they connect.
sorry to be a pain.

thank you

common of switch 1 to common of switch 2. L1 to L1, L2 to L2, red/black with yellow/blue i L1 and L2. don't matter which way round L1 and L2 go.

Normal pre harmonisation wiring of 2 way in T+E would have been a 2 core T+E and then a 3 core colours would have been

2 core RED/BLACk with bare CPC
3 core RED/YELLOW/BLUE with bare CPC

The Red from the 3 core would go in the Common of the switch. Then YELLOW/RED in L1 and BLACK/BLUE in L2

The 2 core will be coming from you light as a S/L and L so the red would be LINE and the black should be a sleeved S/L

That is a conventional 2 way lighting system, but it can be done other ways. all the strappers should be sleeved, in the old way red.
