Fast Course Qualifier in need of advice

Hi all, i've recently qualified from the coventry building workshop with 17th edition and part p. I know i'm probably the "anti-christ" to a lot of you but I have had 10 years woking as a data installer so know th industry quite well!! I only intend to add small numbers of sockets and take on small installs. Bigger jobs will be given to my sparky mates!! I quite enjoyed the course but didnt really get much info on testing. Does anyboy know any good books I could get to read up on it? I'v bought a Meggar 1552 tester but dont really know what i'm doing with it!!! Certainly won't be taking on work until i'm more familier... Any advice would be really welcome!

True Johnny, qualifications are useless without experience but guess it's the old chicken and egg scenario!!

The amicus unite test and inspection book is quite good, only £7. Should help you out.

Were you from ? Liverpool ? If so try Hybrid Training in Aintree , decent setup and seem to know there stuff

2932 will allow you to test and certify your OWN work.

Yawn my pet hate sparks and wannabe sparks not having a clue what the quals the have earned actually are..!.... having 2392 and 2391 for that matter wont allow you to test your own work at all.....!!

you can do that with out the qual at all.......!! all it will do is prove a basic level albiet at different levels of competence in the field.

2391-10 proves competence in single phase and 3 phase testing. More than not having it. No it doesn't allow you to test your own work. But I'd certainly be more confident in somebody with the 2391 testing for me than someone without!
