Thanks for your answers lads,quick question for cside,not quite sure what metal clips your talking about could you elaborate on them please?


you can get these metal clips that clip on the side of the box that gives it a flange sort of like a dryliner/fastfix flap. the flange is sort of like a purlin clip and just clips on the front either side of the 3.5mm pin hole
 
They don't as far as I know make them . get the dry liners to put in some battens and use metal one's
Cant unfortunately its in a finished vaulted ceiling tight up against a wooden beam.Originally had a cheap and nasty fitting on a pattress screwed to the beam.The customer wants slimline flourecents and I was looking for something discret to hide the connections in.
