Afternoon all

I was at a resturant the other day looking at a job. The shop has 3 rows of down lighters each row has 3 light fittings each fitting is a 4way downllighter.
Each row is controlled by a dimmer switch so i dimmer controls 3 light fittings and theres 3 dimmers. the problem is on one of the rows 1set of down lighters ant working while the other 2 are. they 50w lights with a 120v tramsformer i open up the fitting and got a reading of 120v so theres power to them i tryed changing the bulb with a working 1 still no luck any ideas please? could it be the fitting is damged but how? and also the other rows with the down lights work when the dimmer is on full but when u try dimm them they start to ficker?

Are the dimmers rated to the full 600w load they are switching?.....120v transformer?...do you mean 12v or is this something new to me?....if they are 12v 50w GU5.3 lamps and you have power a common problem is the lampholders fail,a sure sign is the pins on the lamp you remove will be discoloured and burnt.

yes rated at 600w. these fittings come with 4 spots. cant remove the lamp only they --- as a set. and 2b honest i wasnt there very long to fully investigate im going back hopefully some time this week to check it out fully but fort id get sum advice in advance. i guess its best if i go back get much info as needed and even a pic of them and post up here if i cant find seem to find the fault. thanks for still trying 2 help out

maybe , its the 120v reading that leads me to think this , I would get an electrician to see about it , its a weird one . Are you getting 120v out from the dimmer ( by taking the plate off ) ? If your getting 240v then its a wiring probelm , 120v and its the dimmer
