Anyone got any tips for faultfinding in electrical control systems?
Could you be a bit more specfic, system, manufacturer, voltage etc etc etc.
Cheers....................Howard
All fault-finding can be condensed in to six easy steps with a handy mnemonic, Cal Dr C (or call doctor c for the hard of thinking... as in call a doctor, something's not well)
It should go without saying that for you to carry out these steps you need to know how a particular system is supposed to operate, particularly in what order!
Collect - all the evidence available
Analyse - the evidence. You may need to test in order to collect!
Locate - the fault. This is what's actually causing the problem.
Determine - the cause. This is what made the fault happen!
Rectify - the fault
Check - the system
After that it's a piece of **** :O)
