Waiting in CEF just a moment ago for some gear and some lad brings in a Crabtree RCD in the box and hands it back to the bloke behind the jump and says 'this one is faulty just like the last one, test function button doesn't work and trips out when a load is connected to it can I have another one' the bloke behind the jump gives him the new one and off he went saying its 25 miles back to the job and 2nd time I've been here today. I just kept quiet even tho I was thinking what a prat he's done the best part of 100miles and when he gets back to the job and fits the new RCD , I would bet my bottom Dollar it will do the same thing as the last two as obviously has an issue with the configuration of the consumer unit or a wiring fault lol.

I have seen a lad take an rcd out of the box, turn it on, press the test button and then complain because its faulty.
Turn to me with a smug look and say glad I checked it first.
Yes I said, if I were you I would ask to go out the back and check the f***ing lot.
But be prepared to be here a long time before you find one that works. lol

Brilliant. You should of told him it could be due to the resistance of his skin touching the test button and that you need to measure him for high resistance.

<Hands both insulation resistance leads to the chap>

"Now hold one in each hand sir you may feel a slight tingle"

Better still send him to death row and tell him to pat test the chair.
Mind you he would probably slap a green label on it

That is hilarious!! :D

Sorry for not replying to your message Lee..

If you still need to know how to insert an image then do as follows:

1. click 'reply' or 'reply with quote'
2. Hover over icons above box you are writing in until you reach 'insert image', then click,
3. select 'from computer'
4. click 'browse'
5. find the image on your computer!

If the 'browse' function does not appear (as on mine) then click on 'go advanced' to the bottom right of the box you are writing in (and follow same steps), this for some reason then makes the 'browse' appear on mine.
