Faulty switch help!!

I recently finished my 5 weeks intense course and was asked to change some switches in a friends house. The red I put in "com" and the black in 1way as I was shown. I couldn't see where to connect earth so into 2way terminal it went. MCB won't reset now. HELP

the earth should go in common. as in common as muck. red to the metal box, and black in a choc block

Believe you twist them together with a bit of tape should work shouldn't it?

Switch the switch to the position so that the MCB will reset, then prominently label the switch in large red letters...
