Discuss FCU behind Electric Fireplace in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

I

iwonder

Hey everyone,

Just a quick one... following a design issued it shows a spur located behind an electric fireplace.

I dont believe there to be an issue but have been questioned about the compliance of the installation due to this?

I have had a search about and cant find anything which would assist my thoughts of it being perfectly acceptable.

Can anyone assist?

Thank you

Will the FCU be accessible for testing and inspection and operation of normal use once everything is installed ? Will it be suitable for any environmental effects i.e. heat ?

I can only imagine the fireplace which is installed is moveable to gain access to FCU. Operation i would guess is on the electric fireplace itself...

Thermal effects should be fine as it is only a heater for the aesthetic side of things rather than heat.

Thanks for the assistance gents

A moveable fireplace is entirely imaginable. Just as an issued design being non compliant is entirely imaginable.
