Hi all

have any of you ever come across a problem where the fuse carrier of a fused connection unit has popped out on its own leaving the 3 amp fuse undamaged? I went to a house this morning to investigate what seems to be a different issue not related to this fcu problem, but apparently this was how they found the fcu earlier today when they investigated why they had no hot water. I had a look at the fcu and the terminals on the supply side were loose, especially the neutral so I tightened them. Could this have caused the thing to shoot the fuse out of the holder?

Cheers

I doubt it mate, may be the fuse holder was not in correctly and it made its way loose but not a chance that it was pushed out by a serge. You know how tight the fuse door is, how many have been broken whilst trying to open on? I've broke a few.
