I have installed two lighting points in a garage through a FCU connected to a ring final circuit. When testing the installation would I treat the FCU as a distribution board and add my R1 + R2 from the furthest light to the FCU? Or would I need to include the R1 + R2 of the ring circuit too?

I was hoping to get an R1+R2 reading to add to the Ze to try and avoid working live (EAWR and all that!) How would I test it if I wanted to go down this route?

do R2 reading!!! much more simple!! connect ya Lead to FCU screw and then use a wander lead (or a piece of nulled cable) and other lead to Earth Terminal in light!!

Simples...

Cross-connect line and cpc and take reading at FCU. Then connect line and cpc at FCU to your light. Add this to other reading and that will be total R1+R2, and add to Ze. Don't forget to include your switch returns.
