I've landed a nice labour only contract, 4 blokes for 4 months to run a job basically re-arranging a whole factory about 7,500 square metres big. I ran a food factory install from start to finish before which lasted about 8 months and that went well.

I'm pretty confident in the task that lies ahead but I was just wondering if anyone had any wise words and good tips to keep everything in order and to help the job go smoothly because there are things to be coming off the back of it which I don't wanna miss out on!!

Cheers for any input in advance guys!

make sure you get stage payments. that way, if they go bust or dump on you , you're only a week or 2 out of pocket.

Get a diary.

A big one.

Always best to prepare for the ******& contest.
Stage or regular payments are a must.
Good supply of materials is always good.
But most of all rhino skin, self belief, willingness to listen and a good supply of eggs to suck.

Get a good plan together so you know who will be doing what and when. This will give you the materials that you require at each stage and allow you to plan for holidays and will indicate the impact of sickness/absence. Be prepared to change the plan when things change but always replan the impact of the change. Document all change requests and get them signed by the customer. As suggested above get a big diary and write down everything relevant, each day, especially conversations with the client. Good luck.
