Having gone back and forth through the onsite guide and BYB, am I right that with socket outlets in commercial premises it is the same as domestic 2.5mm and 100m2 ring main and 75m2 for a 4mm radial circuit? So application for diversity would be 32amp for first circuit and then 50% of every circuit thereafter?

Thanks, having a brainless moment!

Commercial and domestic have the same rules for circuit design, so the advisory information about the maximum square area covered by a ring final circuit on a 32A breaker in 2.5mm² cable (100m²) and a radial final circuit in 4mm² on a 32A breaker (75m²) is the same for both types of installation.

The diversity guidance in the OSG then advise the diversity figures you give (100% of the first standard socket circuit and 50% of the rest).
However it is often a good idea to assess the diversity based on likely usage if at all possible.

OP don't call it a ring main, it's a ring final circuit
