hi,

i have been in the trade for 10 years, and have often carried work out on my own. i have had the odd apprentice come and go over the years, but they seem to get put off once they realise they have to put down there fancy cutters and clean screwdrivers, for there cold and rusty scotch comb or once they get to a stage where they start to be more competent with there first/second fix, they think hey should be earning 100-120 a day

im just wonder if theres a more realiable place for finding aprrentices in my area, i have heard of the jtl scheme. im curious to find out if any one has hired an apprentice throught this scheme and how its worked out for them.

also if theres any other schemes similar that i should know about

im based in London and i refuse to give work to people who are not in college or have finished college, i think the trade is dying enough all ready from these cheap labourers.

Thanks

If you have had multiple apprentices leave you, common denominator, maybe you are the issue.......

a lot of people simply don't have the patience to teach as well.

for example I didnt like my supervisor at all when I started but he is alright with me now that he can leave me alone and I will get it done right and if any issues ill raise the white flag and beg help off some poor soul :D
