Adam Smith

I am looking for work at the moment and I am quite interested in working on large projects like new buildings (ie. The Shard) or the underground / rail network.

How would one go about finding the companies that undertake this sort of work? I saw that Mace have the contract for building the Shard and I tried to find out who they are using to do all the electrical work, but to no avail.

I haven't really had much experience in searching out this sort of info so if anyone has any ideas or knows anywhere online I could get a list of companies contracted for this kind of work I would be greatful.

I passed my ECS exam today so i'll have my card in a couple of weeks and would really like to put it to use!

Cheers

I'm not entirely sure, I have my 2330 level 2 and 3, 17th and Part P.

I think it will be either 'installation electrician' or 'electrical fitter'

Will either of those be suitable for the type of work I am thinking of getting in to?

If you dont have your NVQ 3 mate i think you will be classed as an improver. Don't quote me on this but I know a lad on site was moaning about something similar not so long ago.

Your best route would probably be through an agency, if you don't have any direct contact numbers for any firms.

If you PM your email address I'll send you a list of numbers I have, some London and others nationwide... might be a little out of date.

All the best Sy
