My firm only saw me through my apprenticeship so now im on my own.

I feel ready to jump into the deep end, but whats the best way to go about it?

I aim to carry out domestic work mainly. I am not certified or anything like that obviously, so what would be my best option (considering i am just about managing money wise!). I've heard napit is cheaper than nic and more suitable for people carrying out domestic? What are the prices roughly? public liability? Registering business details? who what where? Best test equipment for value? I would love to use the megger but its so expensive!!

So many questions any advice towards starting up on my own would be much appreciated! cheers!

elecsa seem to be the most "electrician friendly" scam. £340 + VAT. PL is about £100/year. plenty of second hand megger MFTs going on ebay. a CM500 just went for £130 yesterday.
