Hi. In need of some help with a fire alarm install. I've installed a simple 2 wire system with 2 zones one for upstairs and one for downstairs back to a panel

for the upstairs zone I've taken just a feed in to a break glass then out to a smoke then to a sounder then on to another sounder when turning the supply on the alarm seems to sound and will not go off Ive got a resistor on the end of the circuit and I'm pretty sure I've got connections on each component correct is there anything else I'm missing do i need another resistor at the panel?

thanks for help.

Is it addressable or conventional, if conventional then you have wired it wrongly, sounders are seperate from the zones.

Your sounders are reversed, polarity.
Polarity is corrected on activation, firing the sounders.
I heard it called a savwire system?

Boydy

your half way there boyd as activation does reverse polarity................we first need to know system, panel type, etc...

looking at that, then, it appears that you've madea monumental cock-up. detectors and call points should be wired on the zone circuits, and the sounders on the sounder circuits.

Not a problem....standard ctec panel made for channel.....all zones are standard with eol capacticor, an system has separate sounder circuits

  • oh dear as already stated call points and smokes on zones sounders on there own easiest way to sort that out is with 4 core and put it down to experience

Shame you did not read my post on July 2013 en 54 regs Rafiki have lost the en approval and only Rafiki pro is no approved in any installation
