We have 2 buildings, a Main House and an Outbuilding. Each has its own fire alarm panel. The panel of the Outbuilding is connected to the panel of the Main House via a 2 core FP200 cable. It's set up so that if the Outbuilding panel is triggered then the Main House panel sounds its alarms also.

The cable goes from the Sounder output of the Outbuilding to a trigger point on the Main House panel.

We would like to set it up so that if the Main House panel is triggered then the Outbuilding panel is also triggered, ideally without replacing the 2 core interconnecting cable.

Does anyone know if such a thing is possible, or do we need to fit a 4 core cable instead of the 2 core.

Any expert advice very gratefully appreciated.

Nick

You need 4 core or better still 2 x 2 core. So if one cable is damage it does not effect the other BS standard.
Would also need the panel makes, as some panels will lock up, as one sends a fire signal, the other panel returns a signal coursing both to stay in alarm. It can be done with radio, but the system would unable to monitor the cable for fault.

Would also be helpful knowing the makes of both systems? As it may be that the two can be networked and set up so that only certain events trigger each panel.
