In a nutshell what are the laws/regulations on fire systems. I am getting asked more and more to price a fire alarm system along side power/lighthing work when given brawings by architects and builders. Problem is my fire experience is limited to a couple of small systems when an apprentice helping the guy i worked for fitting them on local pubs.
I know a good lad who can fit them and did work on them full time for large company. But i am concerned about the signing off side. Can it be passed off on a electrical installation certificate or does it require a more official document. Would my company need yet another "approved" badge on the van? I know there are different types of systems... addressable, conventional... What is an L3 system?
Anyone got any links to useful info sites or know of local training centres ( SOuth Wales ) that I can get onto a course with to clue myself up with the regs on this kind of stuff.
Dont want to lose the work over something like the fire system and would rather keep it "in house" if possible rather than sub it out if poss.
Thanks in advance...
