Fire Alarm Systems

I have been asked to design a Fire Alarm system for a commercial property, and I need some reference materials, can anybody here advise? I cannot access the alarm section of this forum for some reason....

I am looking for a BS 5839, guidance, although my client has asked me to follow the North American code, why I dont know, but would be interested to know whose system was more stringent.

No idea about North American systems, why you would want that in the UK is beyond me!

Don't know where you would stand if you installed it and it was not to BS 5839 also your client might have problems with their insurance company as well.
