can anyone help? installing a conventional fire alarm to a unit for offices, unit adjoining has a system and client wants the two systems to go off when either is activated, whats the best way to achieve this please

probably put in an mf 200 panel, unsure of other panel but its quite old, install and maintain many systems just haven't linked an old one and a new one yet

Recommended way is to use the fire relay on one panel to trip the zone on the other and vice verse .....The zone used on each panel must be capable of being programmed to non latching, most modern panels have this feature.

The reason for using this method, is to show the linked panel as a zone which can be identified. It also has the feature of resetting both panels automatically when the control panel in fire condition is reset, preventing lockup.

Certainly would not recommend Rafiki or Menvier....these are the quick plastic kits sold in Electrical wholsellers for more money than professional panels. Would recommend Kentec Sigma, CTEC range or Firesense concept......my personal choice is Kentec Sigma. good solid metal panel, with great features to cover all situations

I always laugh when i see "Rafiki Twinflex fault" or similar , the problem is : It's a Rafiki/Fike product! Those Kentec panels are good solid piece of kit for the price of them.

They are always in fault...totally detest Rafiki, the problem lies in the pin connections on their detection bases. A lot of installers dont realise Kentec do a twin wire sigma, which can used any detector or siren on the market on the same zone wiring...so you get the same easy wiring as Rafiki, but realiability of Apollo S65 or Hochiki
