Don't do fire alarm panels but been asked as favour

got a 6 zone panel only require one zone as it's a very small shop unit got a break glass unit and sounder,

Is this best done as a radial or suit ring ?

Yes seams a pointless system but any way you will have a run 1 cable for the sounder and 1 for the call point unless you have a 2 wire fire alarm panel then you will be able to run the call point and sounder on same circuit

As much as I try to help you guys out, and must state we work together.....I really wonder do you realise your bog standard Public Lilability will not cover you for this type of work....!!

Even more so do people realise the responsibility that befalls them as soon as they undertake fire alarm works!, as a sub contractor I look after 3 of the biggest shopping centres in the country and numerous schools and nursing homes etc!, it's a massive responsibility and I never forget it!

I have said this so many times on posts ....that we work together....and if your do not have the experience to design a fire system, then work with a fire company in partnership.....

I am currently installing a fairly large l2 system to a pub/b&b. I took the fire alarm planner from CEF round with me originally to plan it, then sent the plans to a fire alarm company near me to diuble check them. They gave the all clear and will come and commission when ive finished then take over control of the system and put maintenance schedules etc to the owner.

Dear oh Dear, Please do not attempt to undertake this work, although a simple job in theory it could be a crown of thorns for an inexperienced Electrician within that field. It is a favour however also a council job? come on, it just isn't possible surely???????????????????????????????????????????????????

There are some jobs even though you are doing it as a favour are best walked away from and this sounds like one of them

as tazz says your PL insurance prob wont cover fire alarms so i would give them a call and check , and if you are going to do fire alarms in the future i would buy electricians guide to fire detection and fire alarm systems
