Hi guys (girls) could anyone tell me what the legal requirements are for installing an L2 fire alarm system in a HMO dwelling ie who can do the work and who certifies and commissions the installation.
Also, same question for emergency lighting.
Could someone reply to this ASAP please.
Thanks

Hello Weyboy, i'm prob not the best person to answer this one but someone will be along to answer your question in due course (ASAP may be optimistic as its fairly quiet in the day, everyone working)

Introduce yourself properly in the meantime on other area :) im sure you'll find this site very informative

Where are you from? with a name like that you could possibly live close to me

Hi weyboy

If you pm me your email address I will email you a design guide for both, which will give you all the details you need.

Have quite a bit of experience with these beasts so if you need any further help just ask

House with multiple occupancy

Ahhhh, Ahhhhh, and thrice Ahhhhhh !

Easiest way is single loop addressable, with panel in lobby. Wired like a ring main, sounders and call devices all on same loop, each has a series of binary switches to set address.

Call points and smokes on landings.

Smokes in flats/rooms.

Heats in kitchens.

Call point in lobby.

Smokes in cellars etc
