Went to a house today to check the electrics as the customer was worried about possible fire hazards.Found a bit of old 7.029 twin (or 2.5 if you're not old enough)rubber insulated lead sheathed cable wired directly into the henley block, feeding an old cast iron fuse box.The rubber was all crumbling away so one false move and there could have been a mighty flash bang possibly setting the contents of the cupboard alight, which was crammed with junk and old carrier bags. The gas main bonding under the sink was a bit of a red herring also.A nice bit of 10mm but when Ichecked it was just connected to the sink metalwork.Obviously managed to fool the gas men as a new boiler had been fitted.I don't remember finding that sort of thing when I was an apprentice many years ago.
