fire

did some down lights today for a up stairs bath room, 11W lights just 4, 230V IP65. could not go in the loft since XS is blocked in order to work from the top so had to do everything from the bottom. after drilling the 75mm holes i put my hand in and pushed all the insulation as far as i could apprx 4-6 inches away from the hole. i then connected the light and put a fire hood over the light and pushed it in.

has anyone ever done such work before and have you used this fire hoods? will it be safe from fire?

I agree with DurhamSparky, fire-rated all the way now, here's some guidance:

i didnt choose the lights, the customer bought them, will those hoods help the way i have used them from the bottom rather than working from the loft?
