Fire hoods and concerete ceiling

Morning all,


Im working in a domestic property in which ceiling has been dropped lower. The ceiling above is concerete so will i need hoods??

Also where i can get information on this so i can be 100% confident in my choice.

I am doing a similar job at the moment and I asked the local building control inspector and he said the concrete was the fire barrier and there was no call for fire rated down lights or hoods. Just as well as tgere was not the room between the plasterboard and concrete to fit fire rated.
