HI everyone. A customer wants to install a fire place. I'm not sure what kind. They want to want move a socket over I havn't quite seen the task yet and was wondering about some general points. Is it safe to leave cables buried directly under the hearth in the floor or behind in the wall? Will the ambient temperature in these positions be to much?

You don't say what type of fire wiil be installed I assume that there is no chimney currently so it would be worth checking that one is not going to be built as that would suggest the possibility of an open fire in the future and I would say that the cables would need to be moved away from the current location

Would suggest you check the job out ask the questions and get all the details
