Just carried out an IR test on a first fix RFC. It’s one of two RFC’s that I’m using in a complete renovation of my house. At the moment plasterers are sill working their way round and at each socket outlet I’ve wago’d the conductors and confirmed end to end continuity. r1 -0.83, r2-1.4 and rn - o.83. When doing IR test my readings are greater than 999M but at the start of the test I noticed that the meter shows an initial lower reading which then creeps up. Worried that there may be a minor short / insulation damage somewhere?

Cheers Tel. Lots of lime plastering going on which is a slow process (and expensive ). Will test again when all is dry and I can trim off prior to second fix.

KT 65 DL. Not aware of any pre test and on previous tests I’ve not noticed this behaviour. One day I might read the instruction manual ;)
