it's official, just finished my first year of my course managed to get caught up with all the work and scoring 80% in tests saying i started 5months late the course not bad since last September i didn't know the colours for line, neutral and cpc. Now i get to work 5 days a week until September. wahoo.
It's nice to keep track of your progress for the year so far, maybe some of you can update me on what you've done and how you've progressed/progressing so far

Basically a catch up thread since i haven't been that active recently on the forum.

Happy to see everythings fallen into place for you and hopefully for the future too. :)

Finished the third year of my nvq level 3 in electrical installation (apprenticeship!) at the beginning of this month. Now all that stands between me and being qualified is my FICA (final integrated competancy assessment), which I can book from august onwards! Had glowing reviews all the way through and never really struggled, although my backround and being slightly older probably helped (now 23!).

The fact you have done so well given the circumstances shows you will probably fly through the rest of your course! Well done bud!

Great thread idea Doody, it will be good to hear from everyone.

Doody is one year closer from being let out on his own with the general public! God help us all

Thank you, don corleone, at the moment it's just day release  i've moved from damage to property to damaging myself... May have fallen down a flight of stairs... just a little bit... hit every single one bar one. However didn't manage to cause any major injury to myself unlike a certain someone who shall remain nameless ;)

Are you ok bud? Did'nt break anything? Guess your stairs wasn't like these lol

[ElectriciansForums.net] First year over.

Just to inform everyone, those are the escalators that a mate of mine bet me ÂŁ50 that I could not slide down. Lads night out Xmas eve so why not???

I fell/tumbled down 2/3rds of them.... Yes it did hurt. Almost got arrested!!!! Shopping center security staff jumped on me like a trampoline, tried giving me first aid pmsl. I'm sure this will turn up on Youtube in time to come.

1 x fractured wrist (again,,, had a few of them)
Multiple blood weeping scratches from the sharp edges of the stairs
Left leg took the worst of it, blood stained jeans on a night out is not a good look lol. Looked like Woverine from X-Men took a swipe at me! Oh yes, I was sliding down, and the stairs were going up so I hit more than what I should have.

It was a good night out! No I did not win the bet btw, I had to slide down the full length and not fall down them

3 weeks later I fell on my own stairs at home and broke 2 ribs!!! I am very careful on stairs these days. Boom arm and scissor lifts not a problem, bloody stairs are my downfall.

Forgot to mention my fall was at a customers house
Also i've just been quoted ÂŁ1200 for car insurance  well ÂŁ1300 since it's monthly is yours still near to ÂŁ2000?

ÂŁ1840 btw lol. Oh well ---- happens...... It s how you deal with it that matters. You should know that by now? Adapt and attack within a suitable and an appropriate way. Michele, love you to bits mate. You will become a great electrician in time. We are always here for you bud

cheers mate. I can imagine il be posting some pretty soon!

We started by doing the maths and science as it's meant to be the hardest bit of the course I'm sure you'll get your head around it with the help of tutors, TS and work mates. It's nothing to lose sleep over.
And thanks, you too
