so, it looks like we've got one commercial customer about to miss out on the current FIT rate due to somehow deciding to register with ofgem for renewables oblgation rather than FITs.

Took us ages to work out what was going on, and why the ofgem portal was only giving us the option of hydro or biogas. Was just about to fire off a complaint when we suddenly clicked what they must have done, and it seems there's no way of us changing it on the portal.

Considering OFgem have part of their remit as being to reduce red tape barriers to the uptake of renewables, it's astounding how complex they've made it to make applications via ofgem.

I'm really glad that the extra 100kWp system we originally had planned in didn't get the roof finished in time, that would have been a bit of a struggle.

How's everyone else coping?

Just squeezed final installation in today. A tricky Solar Edge job on a hipped roof with Rosemary tiles (and plenty of trees around). We used SE's wi-fi comms kit and it worked very well. Easy to configure and highly recommended. Much easier than hard-wiring to a router or messing about with powerline homeplugs.

Needed the panels to bump the EPC into the D bracket but it helps when your in-house DEA is the also the guy who produces all the paperwork including the MCS certificate. FiT application was sent off & acknowledged by email at 6pm so everyone was happy.

It will be interesting to see if any price reductions come from suppliers in the days ahead. I noticed Segen had knocked hefty chunks off a few items recently but Alternergy had increased prices slightly citing the GBP/EUR exchange rate as the reason.
