the uk is but a small player in the world pv market. don't expect prices to drop that much. They may initially as UK suppliers offload excess stock but it's your margins that are going to take the hit

I'm Hoping my new letter to my MP may catch his eye. I know its not constructive but believe it sums up mine and other feelings quite well.

"The FIT Theme Park.


As a 27 year old running a 3 year old business in tough economic times I am devastated to find all my hard work could be undone in the next 6 weeks! Many of my friends told me I was disillusioned when I set up my company during a recession. Despite this the company has grew quite acceptably and took the plunge into PV in 2010.

Since then we have been on a rollercoaster ride of FIT news. Well I’m afraid I am sick of this particular Big Dipper. Pass me the puke bag, I will be leaving the carriage at the next stop. Once I have recovered from the latest free fall experience I will be escorting two employees out of the theme park. They have been most excellent company during my time in FIT world but I just heard the park will be closing early because best ride is about to double it’s que length and half its thrills. The punters could cope with reduced thrills but the prospect of waiting twice as long for them has put everyone off for good.

I suppose we could go try the “hook a duck, dole theme park” that is becoming popular with people of my age. It may not be as fun, flashy, or pay out the big rewards, but there is a prize every time and entry is a bargain!

Is there any wonder the youth of today neglects a life on the coaster of graft? Every time any ones dares ride her, they are slowly dragged up to the top, “click, click, click” and just as they are enjoying the view, “ARRGH” dropped to their doom. Well done, my loyal political servants, you have just driven another nail into the coffin of today’s youth.

How much CAN kit prices fall? REC have mothballed a lot of their production facilities because they cannot manufacture panels at a competitive price any more. Have we not already hit the bottom?

Remember the Chinese industry is heavily subsidised by the government so in fact the price must be at or near bottom. As inflation kicks in in China's prices could rise. If the dollar strengthens the prices will certainly rise. Other countries will gear up but then what quality will be coming out of these new players. There are a thousand containers of panels on their way to various warehouses around the country which cannot be returned so watch for some good offers in January. If there is new technology out there which does the job for less cost then we may see a revival in our own market but not seen anything yet.

agreed, i believe we may see another 10p/kw on 4kw jobs but that will be it. Prices will be steady in 2012 and may even rise once surplus stock is gone. One thing is for sure, no one will order a container for you because you need 10 panels. We will be left with what we can get.

I remember marching through London in aid of the hunting ban (god knows why). There is suppose to be 26,000 of us with nothing to do come 12,12,11 so why not?

Come to think of it a load of students managed to do it recently too.... although I cant be arsed to take my LIDL tent to st pauls. Even if it is only for cooking my beans in at lunch time!
