Hi ppl,

going down south for my ct authorisations next week but dont have much experience fitting ct meters and really need to pass it.
Can anyone take the time jot down the process of fitting a ct meter or anything important when fitting these, i know a bit about them but as i say really need to pass to get working so any help at all would be great.

I was a fitter for 2 year but only worked on wholecurrent meters but been told ct isnt any harder if not easier, just need a bit of help on the process of fitting etc.

Any help at all would be much appreciated

its 3 phase work, basically just be taking one off and putting one back on.

Cheers

Hi, firstly the purpose of a ct meter is that the meter capacity is too low as compare to the load demand. Firstly check the ct ratio and the meter capacity. Check the ct primary and secondary connection.verify the current direction before energising the circuit.Make sure you used the wright conductor type and color coding. If you make use of a test terminal block make sure you short the CT and open the potential link. Using an ohm meter check each conductor for open cicuit.WHEN ALLTEST IS OK, close the potential link and open the ct shorted link. ENERGISE the circuit and chek voltage and phase sequence
