Menvier SD2 SPEECH DIALLER

theres a phone socket on the other side of the wall was going to take the line from that.
is the sd2 good, it was ÂŁ94
are there any others i should be looking at, dont mind the price but dont want to buy one and its rubbish and end up buying another one.
looked at the yale ones but they are all wireless and i have a wired system.

the sd2 it a good bit of kit,it does text but id use the speech, sms numbers are unreliable, there not the same sms centre that mobile use, also has listen in was looking at these myself,as galaxy sms cant be trusted anymore

whats up with Galaxy? Ive never had a problem...

its not the galaxy as such its the free sms centres i find cant be trusted,i use the o2 one on my 512 its hit and miss, seems worse on g2/3,im switching back to a sd,quite like the look of the pyronix ones, not cheap but some good functions, prefer that you can hide the contols and fit the mics where you want, like the sd2 but its vunerable to attack if you want to use listen in and talk back,

theres ones that do sms and Audio, they can also have a sim card of your choice inside (such as a pay as you go) and can use that without a phoneline, also theres some nifty new ones that you can connect to on the internet and also via a smartphone, some even do CCTV so that you can look on the mobile phone while you are away, and of course theres the ones that connect to another unit that smokes up the area so that intruders cant see much apart from the way out and they leg it...make sure the phone connection is covered/hidden or they could cut it before the entry timer delay ends...

Yeah the sd2 is decent, or texecom do a speech and text dialler

Menvier SD2 SPEECH DIALLER

Hi Plumb, have read the specs on the SD2 and although it states SMS this seems to be by an additional module...It also states that it will contact up to 10 telephone numbers but landlines only.
For SMS you need SD3, details here:
The SD3 Speech Dialler provides a means of communicating information to fixed and mobile telephones. It can either be connected to an alarm panel or used as a standalone unit.
Key Features
•Eight trigger inputs to which can be assigned a voice message and/or text message
•Store up to 10 contacts
•Built in microphone and speaker to allow you to record and replay audio messages direct from the unit
•Store up to eight alarm messages, eight restore alarm messages and one common message
•Up to 30 seconds for messages
•Send text messages via SMS service
•Store up to eight alarm text messages, eight restore alarm text messages and one common text message
•Up to 40 characters
•On receiving a voice call from the SD3, the contacted person can acknowledge the call by pressing 8 on their phone
•The SD3 has several call-abort options
•Displays current ambient temperature and can be programmed to alarm at high and low temperatures
•The unit has an internal clock which can display date and time.
•'Listen-In Mode' switches the internal microphone to the telephone line, so that you can hear activity at the premises.
•'Talkback Mode' switches the internal loudspeaker to the telephone line so you can talk to the premises.
•The SD3 can be accessed remotely by dialling into it with a touch-tone telephone
Hope this helps...If I find any info I'll post here
