Hi there. Stuck on a problem wiring up a boiler.

customer wants a thermostat fitting and they have already bought one, it's a Salus RT200. It's to be fitted to a Vokera Linea 28 boiler.

The boiler currently has a piece of loop cable fitted across the 2 thermostat connectors and the voltage across these is 12v.

The thermostat is 230v input and output and has 3 terminals for L SL N. Can this thermostat be fitted to the boiler and if so how should it be connected?

The thermostat is rated to 230v at its switching contacts, but using lesser voltages isnt a problem, take the stat link out and take 2 cores to stat connect as stat as shown in wiring plan for stat, If the stat has digital display it may be the case its 230v only but if its just an a manually adjustable stat with printed values then you can use it.

Don't use that stat it will wreck the PCB on the boiler.

You need a voltage free stat would highly recommend the horstmann centaurstat item 12157 from screwfix (ÂŁ30.90). Its battery operated and you just take a 1.00mm from boiler to stat. Its fully programmable so its a stat and timeswitch combined.

Yes agree with Stuntman, just looked the part up, this is a mains supplied stat and cannot be used you just need a cheap simple mechanical stat that dosnt require a power supply to run.

Hi.

Just done a quick Google on your stat there....seems it's 230V rated only so wouldn't be suitable for use with that particular boiler.

Cheers.:)

Damn....DW beat me to it.
