What are peoples views on fixing swa to concrete fence posts and gravel boards, the alternative is ripping up a perfectly footpath and garden to bury which seems a bit over the top?

There are many a brackets out there that you can get that uses a clamping method as opposed to drilled that gives you a mounting opting for various install methods like tray etc ;)

not keen on fixing to the gravel boards, but several methods can be used just fixing to the posts.

1. galv. conduit, fixed to posts. 2. tanalised timber batons, then cleat the SWA to that. 3. galv tray.

You could always stick the tray direct onto the posts with that superbond stuff, it set like concrete and will save lots of time, just dot and dab the posts and tiewrap the tray to hold it while it sets.

Drilling that pre-stressed concrete is asking for trouble, it tends to crack and splinter and can shatter completely if you're unlucky.

Gripfill timber to it as Tel suggested
