looking at table 4F1A, insulated flexible cables with sheath:

6mm 2 core will carry 39A, volt drop 7.8 mV/A/m

6mm 3/4/5 core 34A, volt drop 7.8 mV/A/m

these are non-armoured flex.

4mm flex will carry 32 Amps.

I'm assuming you mean common flexible chord, Table 4F3A

I'm glad you've said that, I was looking at that table first, however, whats the difference between that and the table I stated from?? I assumed that was the old twisted flex you used to get on pendant drops.

Now you've done it Roukel,

We now have to have a debate on what's a flexible cable and what's a flexible chord, and the difference between the two.

Let me start,

I've no idea.

Just look in Part 2 (definitions) in ol' red.

Basically a flexible cord is the same as a flexible cable BUT the CSA of the coductors doesn't exceed 4mm. Make of that what you will.

Never really thought about it before.

Edit.....The tables start at 0.5mm for cords and at 4mm for cables, but 4mm appears on both with different values, must be temp corrected on one.
