Hi i have brought a floodlight from focus today to replace my existing light, it came without instructions (it was the last one the box was open), the problem is it always stays on, i have it running off a switched spur, inside the unit it has a 4 way connector block, i have live to live, earth to earth and netural to netural, but on the outgoing on the 4th connector there is a red wire going into the bulb or pir and a white wire doing the same, i have a photo i have attached, any help please

you seem to have wired it correctly. the 4th terminal with the red is to feed a slave flood, so don't use it. it may be stuck in manual mode so, to cure this, switch off and wait for 30 secs. switch on and it should come on for whatever the timer is set for, then go off. if not, it's probably faulty.

I have a similar problem with a security light but the swithcing off then on again thing doesn't work, I assume the photocell or similar is knackered, checked the wiring and that is all OK and there is nothing in the manual about manual switching.
