Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let the guys in the North and Wales that have been affected by the floods know that they have my thoughts with them at this time.

Lee

Cheers Somecamel, although I luckily am not directly affected many towns, cities, villages have been hit bad locally, the news doesn't even give a true scale of those effected.

Thank you for your kind words.

One of our customers from last month has a flood defence at the bottom of their garden in Wakefield and posted a photo on Facebook showing water a few inches from breaching it. It looks like they had a narrow escape but thousands of others haven't been so lucky.

Gavin's base in Leeds is only a couple of hundred yards from Kirkstall Road which was totally flooded as it runs parallel to the River Aire. He's on much higher ground though so there's no chance the waters would reach him.

Flood defence schemes in York and Leeds have been delayed (cancelled?) by the Government so Cameron/Osborne are taking a bit of abuse for that.

we very nearly rented different premises in the kirkstall valley that have been under water the last couple of days, so we caught a lucky break there.

Been having teams working in the rain a lot lately, but that's what waterproofs are for - probably better than working in sub zero temperatures.

Yeah, we have had a little bit of a flood in Leeds!!!!

Mainly business areas but a lot of residential homes next to the river in the city center have been hit. A good mates dad owns a garage just a few hundred yards from the above youtube video, going down tomorrow to help clean up and get his business back up and running as soon as possible. Not the best way to start the new year.

Edit:- The pub we normally spend new years eve in was 3ft under water last night!!! Think we may have to go elsewhere this year.

should be OK if they've got hand pull.

Pretty bad around my part, thankfully my home is ok but not so fortunate for others, bingley was hit hard, keighley, hebden bridge as usual.

ive never seen the river aire flood like that, we watched a full allotment float off, which was gutting for the couple who make a small living selling the plants etc from the road side. Loads of homes and business affected.

My my thoughts are with the badly affected.
