i will be buying a mft soon and got my eye on the fluke 1652c. i know fluke has a good name, but is this a reliable piece of kit? cant afford to buy one if i gotta keep repairing it. thanks

Had a couple of 1653's for years now never had to have them repaired, they eat batteries and the leads are pants but a good one man tester. the automatic rcd test is good if on your own testing.

thanks mate, i read somewhere the leads could be better, but was more concerned about the tester, havent found anything yet to say otherwise.

I have the 1652B and for the last 3 years no problems what so ever, as mentioned it is a battery muncher, but does last quite a long time.
I have had no problems with my leads, but I do look after it very well, no one else goes near it, carefully pack it away when not in use etc.

e got the 1652, had it since christmas. Ive always used these fluke mft types. never had a problem. I love the test probe with the integral button and the fact that you can do 2-lead tests for Zs, the auto rcd test is very useful since i work alone. its comfortable around my neck and the carry case is very handy too. i love em

after a lot of consideration i got the 1653. havent really had chance to use it yet, but will test my house when i can to get used to it, and get used to the whole testing side of things like filling in forms
