The new 1650B Series builds on the rugged reputation of the earlier 1650 Series, only it’s re-designed to meet your need for more productive test tools.

This new series contain the following new features:
  • Fast high current loop test
  • Variable RCD current mode for customized settings
  • PASS/FAIL indication for RCD tests
  • FLUKE-1651 with 250 V insulation test voltage (250 V, 500 V and 1000 V)
  • Select voltage measurement between L-N, L-PE and N-PE
  • Zero adapter for easy test lead compensation, available as new accessory and also included with standard scope of supply
These are the differences between yours and the 1650B series

Hi Ian,
I still dont see any difference between what makes my meter 16th Ed and this one 17 Ed.
Fast high current loop test
I know time is money and all that but at the end of the day my 16th does the same test.

Variable RCD current mode for customized settings
This obviously isnt a ramp test, so what other settings other than 1/2, 1, & 5x do you need?

PASS/FAIL indication for RCD tests
My 16th already has that, by means of a disconnection time in mS :)

FLUKE-1651 with 250 V insulation test voltage (250 V, 500 V and 1000 V)
My 16th Ed 1651 already has this

Select voltage measurement between L-N, L-PE and N-PE
Eh??? Have I read this correctly? Surely you can measure between these points using any voltmeter?

Zero adapter for easy test lead compensation, available as new accessory and also included with standard scope of supply
Still not giong to make me rush out and buy one :)

As far as I am aware the only real addition to the regs regarding testing is phase rotation, so surely any meter that does not have this is not 17th compliant?
