got mine today and i think its great, the volt detection is really sharp, even picks up cables in walls (as long as not too deep)! the led light is also handy. only down side is theres no tone.

i wouldnt pay the rrp price of 29.99
but 22 including postage i feel wasnt bad

Got mine today for ÂŁ19.19 on ISSWWW, great little piece of kit, and the led on it is brilliant. A friend of mine told me that they are'nt very reliable and a volt indicator is better... what the hell is a volt indicator?

They have their uses, I'll agree. However, using one as part of a 'safe isolation' process is certainly not one of them.

I'm of the mind that they are more dangerous than they are useful, as they can encourage sloppy practice in the area where you least want sloppy practice :skull:

Have'nt had a chance to use it on site at all yet, but after checking sockets in the house found that it is'nt 100% reliable, deffinetley a tidy piece of kit but would solely rely on it for safe isolation unless I was just double checking after leaving the area for a while... the LED torch is brilliant though, can't stress that enough.
